Jon Lovitz: “So is that about a girl with one giant breast?”
That pretty much sum up this old track… not. Really, it was one of the catchy tunes to come out from the 90s and pretty much introduced the Wallflowers to the music world. I have huge admiration for Mr Jakob Dylan to make it on his own (with the band), despite of the behemoth name of his father’s.
And yeah, Mr Jakob Dylan have gone solo too (what happened to the band?), with this album, Seeing Things, out recently on 10 June, 2008. Will have a go at it later.

A good close friend of mine will soon be jumping over to the greener side of the field. I can’t help but feel a void crawling into me. True, we haven’t met much lately, which was really my own making. But with her going, there will no longer be chances for the random lepaking, the mamak dinners at Pandii’s, the walks at the mall or the groceries (yogurt and canned tuna spread are musts), or even the occasional movies. Or simply the good enjoyment of your company.
Soon, all that will be gone. I wish I could stop you from going. But you leave for a better life, which is really a good thing. And to be closer with your inspiration, that’s a huge plus. I know I should be supportive, but at times like these, I really do want to be selfish. I have only myself to hit my head on.
I guess the part that I will miss the most is seeing you smile, the Kate smile.
I know this song already meant a lot for you than it will be coming from me. But here’s to you, for your new found life.
Need a single page listing all the songs that I have posted here? Then head over here. It is not much, but it is something that I can come out with within few hours out of idleness at work.
Emo-band Death Cab for Cutie will be releasing their new album (their 7th?), Narrow Stairs, on May 13, 2008.
The first single off the album, I Will Possess Your Heart, runs at a full 8:30 minutes. Check out the video below for the radio edit version. Or here, for the full length.
Update 17 June 2008: Alas, the once rumoured DCFC stop-by gig in Malaysia has been squashed. How about bringing in Weezer instead? Heard Rivers Coumo is an Asian-loving chap. Perhaps the organizers can persuade him by offering 300 Asian groupies, no?
To all youse geeks out there, Weezer will be releasing a brand new self-titled album (yet again, now dubbed “The Red Album”) on June 24, 2008. The first single, to be released April 24, 2008, is this track.
This is one supergroup reunion that I have missed out last year. X Japan, once the biggest band to come out from the land of the rising sun (Japan lah), released I.V. digitally early this year, topping the iTunes’ daily chart. It also appears on the soundtrack of the movie Saw IV.
It is no Endless Rain (one of them jiwang songs which I like, a lot), but it is still a rock epic that fits well to the name that is X Japan. Oh, and the whole song is in English. But, why?
