Been listening to this song alot lately. A Pink Floyd classic, like I need to tell you. Covered by Sparklehorse some really long time ago, with Thom Yorke (of Radiohead, like I need to tell you again) on the mic, or phone. According to greenplastic, Thom Yorke sang his part on the telephone from his hotel room.
I’m sorry.

Wish You Were Here
by Sparklehorse featuring Thom Yorke
originally by Pink Floyd
So, so you think you can tell heaven from hell
Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year running over the same old ground
What have you found?
The same old tears*
Wish you were here…
* Originally The same old fears

heey,i tried emailing you to get this song but the mail guy said that you did not have an account.do u think u can send me the song?i really wanna listen to it!lol.thanx.
I saw Lords fo Dogtown in HD a few nights ago, I always switch the channel when the credits start, then last night I happen to watch the credits and I heard this song. One of the better Floyd remakes I’ve heard, thanks for letting me ‘borrow it’, I won’t tell.
I know, some fans will think its sad, and dumb or whatever, but I only just heard this Pink Floyd cover from Lords of Dogtown, and from that moment, it became a classic in my mind. I knew it had to have some history, and low and behold, it was a P.F. song, covered by Sparklehorse. I liked it alot. I didn’t hear PF’s version first, so i’m kinda partial to Sparklehorse’s version, and there must have been a reason they used it in the film instead of the original, (probably because PF wanted too much money..) but its a good song. Thanks for posting it here, it was the only place i was able to find it, without having to $$ the whole soundtrack for just one song that i really wanted. thanks, friend.
