I guess that’s the best I can describe of this cover by Ben Folds. Check out the instruments and the naughty ending bit. Thanks to sweelin for posting it up.
P/S: MP3s of the original and this cover will be up soon, when I can connect to the server.
Update 9/10/2006: MP3s of the cover and the original by Postal Service are now available for download. Apparently I can connect to the server using WinSCP all the while, instead of relying on the troublesome Network Drive mapping. But that’s all geek stuff. Enjoy.
WP [radio.wazee] plugin is something I work on whenever I have the time (and I have aplenty of late). This is the third time I have re-written the code, hense the version 3. The plugin now comes in the really useful WordPress Widgets flavour. Just pop the plugin in the widgets folder, activate it and drag the widget to display on your sidebar.
Mat Weddle of Obadiah Parker (?) going all solo and acoustic on the popular OutKast song, Hey Ya!
It’s weird to have the drumbeat towards the last 50 seconds of the song, but brilliant cover nonetheless. He almost made the song like his own, and I happen to like the original and this acoustic version is even better.
Updated an hour later: Another acoustic version of Hey Ya! by some Icelandic dude you couldn’t even pronounce his name. Get the song from The Sigur Ros Message Board.

Another song from a TV series. This time it’s Dave Matthews‘ turn with Some Devil, featured on the ending of an earlier episode of House, M.D. I’m sure you’ll love this one.
The perfectly disturbing drama Nip/Tuck fourth season is premiering tomorrow (Sept 5, 2006), well on US cable anyways. It’s one of the better series I can’t wait to resume.
This track was featured on the promo video (view it here) for the new season. The Real Tuesday Weld is a one-man band (Stephen Coates), just like Badly Drawn Boy is for Damon Gough. Probably not a fair comparison, but this track can pass off alongside with BDB’s. And it sorta suits the whole ugly/beautiful/disturbing/sickening morale radiates by Nip/Tuck.
The Ugly and the Beautiful is also offered free here. Credits to niptuckfans.com for the link.
Was watching House, M.D. and one of the earlier episodes had this song on. Well, only the introduction part (Dr House was interrupted when the drums came in) but that alone was enough to get me all pumped up inside me. One of the greatest rock song along with Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway to Heaven.
P/S: I always thought the song was titled Teenage Wasteland, until I read this.
