So the wait is almost over. Guns N’ Roses are releasing Chinese Democracy after 17 years in the making (or 17 years after the last albums, Use Your Illusion I & II, who’s counting?). This album-titled track is supposedly the lead single off the album, to be released 23 November 2008.

My take on it? I have heard better tracks from earlier Chinese Democracy (the album) leaks. This can’t possibly be the first single, can it? But nevertheless, the familiar Axl-scream is still there, and the guitar riffs are monsters - and that’s not Slash. He’s no part of this newly formed GnR.

Axl Rose, you’re a dick. But I am looking forward for the final version of Chinese Democracy come November.

Someone has just upped a live version (from Spike TV Scream Awards 2008) of Smashing Pumpkins’ latest single, G.L.O.W. on the tube. G.L.O.W will be released together with the video game Guitar Hero: World Tour.

What do you think, you Pumpkinheads? I think it’s pretty heavy. Will need to have a few spins before it really grows into me - just like any Pumpkins records they have come up with after the reunion. But please, enough of the back-to-Gish-form comments that I have read around the net already. Let’s face it, the Pumpkins will never have another Gish, or even Siamese Dreams, or even Mellon Collie (still my favourite album of all) for that matter.

Let’s just move on.

More Weezer. Here’s the new video for the latest single off the red album, Troublemaker. Looks like a whole lot of fun out there.

First it was Pork and Beans from the latest red album, then Say It Ain’t So and El Scorcho from that Frets of Fire game. Now Perfect Situation is on ‘track repeat’ mode on my Winamp (yes, I still use Winamp and it rocks).
