Need a single page listing all the songs that I have posted here? Then head over here. It is not much, but it is something that I can come out with within few hours out of idleness at work.
Happy Labour Day!
Go to media.joechung.org now, tomorrow, or later!
P/S: There’s also a new News page, with sources from NME, Rolling Stone and Spin Magazine. Read it here.

18The Moldy Peaches - Anyone Else But You

Sometimes when you watched a low key movie trailer and you just know you will enjoy it. No special effects, no kung-fu scenes, no raining bullets and explosives. Just plain dialogue-based-everyday-life moments and a few laughs here and there, easy-going type of movie.
Juno, dubbed the “Little Miss Sunshine of this year,” is one of those movies that I would really love to watch when it is released later this year. I think this track suits the theme of the movie perfectly. It’s sorta … cute.

P/S: I’m dedicating this song to a new found friend because she thinks the song is cute, and she’s also celebrating her birthday today. I don’t see what anyone can see, in anyone else, but you. Happy Birthday, you!

09Smashing Pumpkins’ new lineup?

More Smashing Pumpkins news. Buddyhead reported (or rather rumored) the 2 other members to replace James Iha and D’arcy. Here’s the excerpt:
Ok, now let’s talk some more about 90’s bands getting “back togetherâ€. “Smashing Pumpkins†are putting out a new record and playing some festivals this summer. The only thing is, what makes this any different than that Zwan bullshit we already endured? Same idea… bald vampire lookin whiner/singer dweeb with the 9-foot tall smack addict hippy drummer and a bunch of “other dudesâ€. The sketchiest part about this whole “reunion†thing though, is how the Pumpkins camp isn’t being too eager to announce who the two “not James Iha and D’arcy†people are. In case ya were wondering, the new bass player happens to be Ginger Reyes (formerly of the Halo Friendlies) and the guitar player is a dude named Jeff Schroeder (he used to be in some dorky Silverlake band called The Lassie Foundation). Siiiiiick dudes, real exciting! They originally tried out Eric Avery, but Billy didn’t think he could “keep upâ€. By the way, Bill… are you ever gonna admit that you and Courtney Love were banging when she was married to Kurt Cobain, and that this probably had more than just a smidge to do with homeboy checkin’ out early? Or is that one yer takin’ to the grave? C’mon dude… its like OJ still claiming his innocence. We all know the deal. Just fess up so us grunge babies can move on.
Another female bassist? Billy sure has a thing for chic bassist.
And finally, to all you Iha fangirls:

Eww.

09Iha: “No, I’m not part of the current Smashing Pumpkins album or tour”

“No, I’m not part of the current Smashing Pumpkins album or tour, I haven’t spoken to Billy (Corgan) in years,” Iha told Rolling Stone.
“I’m writing for a solo record, which I’m going to record this year, and working on my indie label Scratchie Records,” he said.
Copied and pasted from NME.com. I guess that confirms it all. No surprises. When is D’arcy coming out from that plastic face of her’s?

16Pearl Jam - Jeremy

Stumbled across this page on digg.com by chance. Jeremy was like one of THE tracks of the 1990s. Of course, not forgetting the album Ten, where this track came from. I honestly have no idea Jeremy was written based on such true tragedy before this. It’s sad, really.

28I think most of the local bloggers must have blogged about Muse’s recent gig in Malaysia by now. I have not read any of them, or even the articles on the newspapers, but here’s mine. A rather late and pointless one.
The Goods
1. Getting there was rather easy. It has been ages since I took the monorail.
2. Indoor and air-conditioned. I was afraid it would rain, but it didn’t. Did someone called in the bomoh?
3. Pretty well-behaved crowd, well at least on my side of stadium.
4. Colourful mat-rockers and their partners.
5. Obvious hits like Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight, Knights of Cydonia, Time is Running Out, New Born, Stockholm Syndrome, etc. Just looking at the crowd jumping to every song gives me the high.
6. An hour plus of solid rock performance.
7. A great company. Thanks again, you know who you are.
The Bads
1. Almost 4 hours of waiting. We went early because we were expecting long queues from my past experience at the Incubus concert. Too early this time.
2. Was asked 5 times to join a survey by the organizer just because I’m a male, Chinese.
3. No opening bands. Well, that could be a good thing, but the waiting was too long.
4. The band started late, like 50 minutes late of the scheduled time. But that’s the norm. Superstar mah.
5. Not knowing most of the song words to sing along.
The Verdict
Bring on more rock concerts, please!

18Tear me apart from you, where has your heart run to?

Just a quickie this time around. The idleness, quietness and loneliness of the holidays are razor-edge pills to swallow.
If you’ve been following the news, The Smashing Pumpkins have announced live tour dates and the release date of their upcoming comeback album, Zeitgeist, on 7th July 2007 (7-7-7). There are no leaks on how they would sound like without James Iha and D’arcy or Melissa Auf der Maur, but I’m excited there will be another Pumpkins album I can drain myself into, even if the comeback will probably tank after a few tour dates. Don’t hold your breath. Enjoy this Adore-era live video, Tear.
Muse, 25th February 2007. Who’s going?
And Happy Chinese New Year. Yeah. Right.
