31Local grunge king, Butterfingers, have just released a “BeritaButter” version of the new first single, 1000 Tahun, off the upcoming album, Kembali.
Welcome back guys. Keep on rocking.
Watch the other video, here.

27The Pumpkins have just released a new video through MySpace. It’s a 7:13 minutes long of head-pounding, guitar-torturing, drum-bashing beast. It’s a killer for live shows, just watch the tube.

21This song (the original Sigur Ros’ version) has been rotating heavily on my list of late. (I tend to really repeat songs that I’m into for the moment). Yes yes, old track. But I’ve said it before, music have no expiry date.
Anyhoo, here’s a decent attempt by the goofy Scientists (linked from á la discothèque).

And here’s the video, by Sigur Ros.

Typical We Are Scientists fun. The track is getting into me.

08A trip down not-so-distant memory lane. Was stucked in the slight jam this morning and this band came rock-danced on my car stereo on random. Instantly reminded me of the tiny (but awesome fun) gig these guys came over to perform couple years ago.
So yeah anyhow, We Are Scientists are coming out with a new album, Brain Thrust Mastery, this March — minus the jungle-beard drummer, Michael Tapper, who left the band “in order to pursue other things.” What does that ever mean when people say that?
Maybe this video provoked him to quit. I mean, he’s a mean drummer and all, but he looked really, really bored in this acoustic. But it’s not a bad version of the song. I like it.
New single “After Hours” will be premiered in the UK tonight (or tomorrow early morning here with the time difference). Hopefully someone can get a leak on that.
If you wanna use my body … go … for … it … yeahhh.

If there’s one movie I could watch over and over again, it will be Empire Records (1995). It’s not an Oscar-winning or any other award-winning movie for that matter, but it has got a bunch of young movie superstars-to-be, a supeeerb boss, memorable quotes, and one hell of a soundtrack. This movie and soundtrack inspired my youth in the 1990s. Oh cliché.
So here in the spirit of ushering the new year, I present to you, my entire collection of tracks from Empire Records I have managed to find over the years.
Damn the man. Save the empire!
Note: Tracks with numbers in front are from the original soundtrack CD.

24An old video, but joyous nevertheless.
Merry Christmas!
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…
* Twelve cricket ball tamperers
* Eleven syllable names
* Ten-minute yoga
* Nine telemarketers
* Eight Bollywood films
* Seven-11 workers
* Six IT graduates
* Five Indian games
* Four Hari Krishnas
* Three butter chickens
* Two nosy in-laws
* And a totally insufficient dowry

07More new singles goodie. This time to take the page are The Killers, featuring the man from Velvet Underground, Lou Reed. Good stuff. Enjoy.

07Apparently, Oasis released this new single digitally sometime late last month. Take a look/listen for yourself. Sounds pretty raw to me.
