I guess that’s the best I can describe of this cover by Ben Folds. Check out the instruments and the naughty ending bit. Thanks to sweelin for posting it up.
P/S: MP3s of the original and this cover will be up soon, when I can connect to the server.
Update 9/10/2006: MP3s of the cover and the original by Postal Service are now available for download. Apparently I can connect to the server using WinSCP all the while, instead of relying on the troublesome Network Drive mapping. But that’s all geek stuff. Enjoy.
Ben Gibbard is like a musical genius. I love what he does with Death Cab for Cutie. Even his side project The Postal Service is equally as good, albeit a little more electronica. So when I stumbled across this post featuring a host of Gibbard-related (collaboration with American Analog Set’s Andrew Kenney (who?)) songs, I couldn’t resist but to link it up. Get it while they’re still up, the post is a week old.
Here’s what you’ll get:
Styrofoam ft. Andrew Kenney - Front to Back
Styrofoam ft. Ben Gibbard - Couches in Alleys
Ben Gibbard - You Remind Me of Home (Live on KEXP)
Ben Gibbard & Andrew Kenney - Farmer Chords
Ben Gibbard & Andrew Kenney - Secrets of the Heart
American Analog Set - The Postman (Styrofoam’s Just Like the Nineties Never Happened Mix)
